Leslie Oliver Wickham, Jr. was born on July 24, 1952 in Tarboro, N.C. He graduated from Tarboro High School in 1970 and enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in September of 1970. He was an English and Religion major for four (4) years, but then switched majors and obtained a teaching certificate in elementary education in 1975. He taught in the Durham Public Schools for 4-1/2 years. His hobbies include swimming, playing guitar and hiking.
Mr. Wickham has tried worker's compensation cases in 25 counties in North Carolina. He has deposed over 100 doctors in North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Florida, New York and Virginia. He served as the Chair of the Workers' Compensation Section of the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers from June 2008 through June 2009. He also served as Chair of the Workers' Compensation Section of the North Carolina Bar Association from 2004 to 2005. Mr. Wickham practices primarily in the area of workers' compensation, but also litigates other civil matters.
